Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia and Iraq were enemies but allies at the same time. With the conflict between Iran and Saudi Saddam helped Saudi win. At the same time he was in debt to Saudi and they wanted their money back. This started a variety of conflicts between both Saudi and Iraqi leaders and Saudi and Iraqi people. Saddam Hussein went to Saudi many times to visit dignitaries because he thought that Iraq did not need to pay back this debt because in some ways they had payed it back by helping Saudi in their own war. These visits showed Saddam's political side.

Syria

Iraq and Syria were united over one major similarity. Both countries had a strong hate for Israel. Both the countries wanted to go to war and destroy Israel. One of the most important meetings of Saddam Hussein's life was when he went to meet with the President of Syria. The topic of the meeting: war with Israel. The outcome: If both Syria and Iraq joined together they could use their resources to beat Israel. The bad part: They could not beat the United States of America. Over many years Iraq and Syria leaders met many times to discuss the idea and the immediate outcome of war with Israel.

Russia

In a news article it was said that Russia would be affected most by the murder of Saddam Hussein. Through out Saddam's political and personal life he had many strong relations with Russia. They were allies in business, and war. In other words they were friends with benefits. Millions of dollars and the same weight in oil was sent to Russia and in return Iraq got weapons that could destroy cities. While fighting in the war against both Kuwait and Iran: Iraq used Russian weapons. Saddam journeyed to Russia many times to discuss weapon trading, and even to discuss political opinions.

Iran

Nobody really knows why Iraq and Iran went to war. It is said that they went to war because Saddam wanted the oil fields of Iran. Also, even before the war there was a series of conflicts caused by Saddam because of border clashes. Also, Iraq had a Sunni government that suppressed the Shi'a population, meanwhile Iran had a Shi'a government. This was also a main conflict. Saddam's most famous stay in Iran was when he commanded ceasefire. By doing this he avoided further international conflict. Saddam proved that he was doing the best for his country by his journey through Iran.

Kuwait

Saddam and Kuwait had many international conflicts. Saddam invaded Kuwait for the corruption of oil. Saddam had the idea that Kuwait was stealing Iraqi oil from underground tunnels. Saddam then realeased the command that his troops should go to war with Kuwait. They won(And faced the first of the Iraqi downfalls caused by the United States.) Saddam's most famous visit to Kuwait was when he went as the official leader of Kuwait. This was a glimpse of triumph for Saddam and his people.Shortly after this concurring the United States went to war or a "conflict" with Iraq and eventually had a role in killing Saddam.

Cairo

Saddam Hussein attended Cairo Law School from 1962-1963. This was the start of his political career. Through out Saddam's life he said many statements on how he owes every piece of knowledge to the 1 year of schooling in Cairo. He left Iraq to study in Cairo because Saddam was afraid that trouble might arouse because he had a part in the failed assassination of the Iraqi President.Saddam Hussein then returned to Baghdad Law School when his own people gained power(Ba'ath Group.) Upon Saddam's return and law degree he was named Iraqi Vice president and soon later became President.

Baghdad,Iraq

In 2003 Saddam Hussein was hung in Baghdad,Iraq. He was tried for genocide and crimes against humanity. He was sentenced for the killing of 148 humans. Saddam was found guilty in many peoples opinion unfairly.During his trial there were 3 judges that participated. After Saddam was found guilty he was hung. During the hanging somebody took a video,it was featured on youtube. A question I have is if Saddam was tried for crimes against humanity aren't there some other world leaders that should be tried for crimes against humanity? This unfair trial and hanging was the end of one of the best leaders who reformed their country from nothing into everything.

Tikrit, Iraq

Saddam Hussein was born in Tikrit,Iraq. He was born in 1937.His father died around the time of his birth, his mother married his step father and it was said that Saddam’s stepfather beat him. Saddam led a tough childhood in Tikrit and people said this was why he was a tough leader, he was treating his people the way he was treated himself. Tikrit was the place of Saddam Hussein’s childhood, and where he was raised to be the fine leader he was even though he was tough and strict. It was the last place he visited before his death.
